I recieved this email with the above subject line. I can't find anything in the forums about the legitimacy of it. The email came from LicensingReviewAMER@adobe.com. See Below removing my personal info.

Adobe Agreement Number: *********************

Dear "My Name",

As part of our 3rd correspondence with ************** we kindly request an immediate response and collaboration regarding the completion of the Adobe License Review.

We would like to remind you that if ************** uses Adobe software, under the applicable Adobe license agreement, Adobe has the right to review and verify installation and usage of its software.

It is very important that all software running in Adobe System is fully licensed, otherwise the organization could be exposed to financial, legal, security and reputational risks.

Next Steps:

To proceed, please complete the <removed link with personal information> and submit this within 7 days.

We trust that Adobe can count on your amicable support and the review is submitted no later than 02-06-2024. Moe De Luca Americas LM Manager (and/or Americas LM iScale Specialist) remains on standby should any of the above be unclear.

In the meantime, please feel free to review our FAQs, and license management Glossary should you have any questions. Thank you for your continued partnership with Adobe, and we look forward to working with your organization.

Kind regards,

Maurice “Moe” De Luca

If you have received a Software License Assessment or License Review email, here is some important information:

Software Asset Management (SAM) is a recommended practice that helps organizations gain clarity on software usage, ensure compliance with licensing terms, and plan effectively for future software needs. Adopting SAM also minimizes the risk of using unsupported or outdated software, which could present security vulnerabilities.

Adobe’s license management programs are built on a collaborative and consultative approach, with a strong emphasis on customer experience. Our licensing specialists work objectively and empathetically to help customers assess the deployment and usage of Adobe software—both genuine and non-genuine—and to support informed and constructive changes where needed.

If you are unsure about the authenticity of any licensing specialist or communication, we encourage you to verify by emailing: licensing@adobe.com.

Should you have any questions, you are welcome to post them in this thread, and a member of our team will be glad to assist you.

I received a similar message but from a different sender, EMEALicenseReview@adobe.com. Initially, this message also ended up in my Spam folder. It's strange that Adobe handles it this way! The message itself is very poorly designed and really looks like spam! I would definitely classify it as spam!

I have been recieving these emails as well.  When I log into my account I am up to date and there are no issues or warnings in my account.  In today's envoriment with all the phishing emials and concerns with hyperlinks I am shocked that Adobe would condect bussines this way.  If I need to comply with something or update terms and conditions this should be completed when I log into my account not by a third party company I am not expecting emails from.

I received a similar letter from the same email address. I called Adobe Customer Service and spoke to an agent. He told me that it is a legit email from Adobe, but that I didn't have to respond to it if I didn't want to. He said I should respond if I wanted to know about Adobe's various licenses but that I didn't have to respond if I wasn't interested. Needless to say I won't be filling out the form.

I agree. This is an odd approach. For a company like Adobe, why would they initiate contact thru a 3rd party and use old fashioned documents and forms to gather info?

They could make a request thru the Admin Portal. The chat support at the admin portal told me BSA was trustworthy but they could not force me to share info. We pay Adobe for all our licenses. The BSA rep replied saying, Moe De Luca will send me an email with more details.

@gbradley10 you do actually have to comply, I can't share the exact details but it is outlined in your Enterprise contract that Adobe reserves the right to audit your company should they need to. Refusing to participate violates your contract.

@tmizell This is legit and has been discussed frequently in the forums. This is part of your enterprise contract with Adobe. One of the terms is they reserve the right to do licensing audits with a third-party vendor.

I have been contacted by a license specialist from adobe (@license.adobe.com). He claims that we are mandatory to answer questions and let their team in to our computers to investigate that we use our TLP licenses according to the license terms. I have also recieved excel files that should be filled out with our license user information.

I have never heard of this before and I wonder if it is for real or if it is a fraud attempt with a stolen adobe mail adress?

I can´t find any information of this when googling the matter and that seems a bit strange that no one else have written about this before.

What are your thoughts?

Kind regards Martin

Email addresses can indeed be misused. It's called "Email spoofing". Many mail apps (like Outlook or Gmail) let you see the "email message internet header", which contains additional technical information.

If in doubt, contact and forward that email to Adobe's security experts:

Thanks!
I mailed phishing@adobe.com and they confirmed that this was a correct revision from an Adobe representative.

Good day

An organisation called BSA | The Software Alliance (bsacompliancesolutions.org and bsa.org) contacted me to review our use of licences.

Is Adobe a member of this organisation and should I comply by providing them with our licence information?
