Why is Adobe doing this?

I just don't understand the thought process behind all this.
I can purchase a license anywhere, but cant use it in a business without jumping through hoops if i've already purchased any kind of business license from the company.
If I want to use it in a business, I pay more than 3 times the price for the same product, with the only additional benefit, that I can manage the license through a website and assign it to someone else if necessary.
Products in stores are not obviously signed as teams or personal licenses, basically you need to know in advance, that every license you can find in a store is for personal use only and can't be used in a business.
If you google "adobe lightroom license" you directly end up in the shop, without info, that it is a personal license you're buying, which can't be used as expected without jumping through said hoops.

How is this a sensable and customerfriendly approach to licensing? No sane person would ever believe, that managing a license for lightroom in a hidden admin console is worth 300 additional $. Am I missing something obvious?

Hi @orthomeier,

Thanks for reaching out and sharing your feedback. We understand your concerns around Adobe’s licensing model.

To clarify, Adobe offers different license types to meet specific needs. Individual plans are designed for personal use and tied to a single Adobe ID. Business (Teams or Enterprise) plans include additional features required in organizational environments, such as centralized license management, user provisioning, role-based access, enterprise-grade security, and dedicated support.

Adobe is working to improve transparency on its product pages and purchasing channels. You can find more information here:

We appreciate your input and will share it with the appropriate teams. If you need guidance on choosing the right plan or transitioning to a business license, we're here to help.
