I have firefox and internet explorer browsers on numerous boxes. Have development site http://www.ultra-ion.us that uses wimpy to access list of wvm videos. Worked perfectly with adobe flash player version 9. Does not work at all with upgrade to adobe flash player version 10. You can see a full screen version of result here http://www.ultra-ion.us/media/video/DriWashPlayer.htm

Looks like a serious bug in version 10 to me. Anyone working on a patch or fix???

    Hi ClubEXL
Do you mean video player underneath "thread" header ? Black screen, no action available for me. No DEMO link. Using Mozilla/Flash10.
    December 11, 2008
ClubEXL The script I linked above is very easy to install,

Drop 2 files in your selected folder, copy script onto your page, making sure it has the correct path to the 2 player files.

When you want to add a track, re-copy the code, change the playerID (If you're putting more than one on a page, paste in the path to the new mp3 and save.

I have a whole back-end that was written for me to add tracks to DJ's pages, I'm sure something like that could be written easily that all you would have to do is log in, paste in path to the track, DJ's name in a drop-down and hit post, and all of the scripting for the player and the playerID would be done automatically. I've got a lot more to it in mine, but you get the idea.

I don't know what your site looks like, or even if you're using a single "button" player or a Jukebox type player/

    Jukebox player that reads tags...

    Hi there,
Using Wimpy mp3 players linked to SQL database. Got same issues than you guys. Bought a new license, pasted reg. code. Players are working now, displaying a nice and bouring DEMO logo on each player. That drives me crazy, but no way to get it off...
    December 14, 2008
Does the player show up ok to you?

i installed a seperate player ( WIMPY RAVE PLAYER ) on my site
this one is NOT on my mainpage
    Its in my profile page
Can you tell me if it shows up correectly on your screen

do you see a DEMO link atop it?
Does it say you need UPGRADE?
Do you see a BLANK box?
    What browser are you using?

Well here is the good news. We may not be without recourse:

<a href="www.flashplayerlawsuit.com">www.flashplayerlawsuit.com</a> It looks like it is just getting started, so make sure to get over there and tell everyone about it. Let's not let them get away with it!!

    WWW.FLASHPLAYERLAWSUIT.COM Spread the word!!

so why cant we all just be given a FLASH 11 UPGRADE
which actually contains the files for FLASH 9?

until all this is sorted out between the two companies?

    i mean seriously
i tried going to Adobe downloads and using an old version of FLASH
and i get a folder with a TON of things in it which dont tell me squat about which one is correct to install
and to boot.... i cant tell for hte life of me which one of the files to activate to actually make it install, never mind the part where the files they send in the dowload are
Prev verion 6,7,8,9, and whatever in between

Honestly... it seems to me that BOTH companies have dropped the ball.

I cant go and use some flash mp3 player for my site that i need to write a new line or 3 of code each time one of my djs uploads a new mix session!!
illl be here all week with them doing live shows each week.

Why does nothing else exist that will simply read the sub folders in my server and pull out ID tags for mp3s?

see i dont understand all this

theres somethign wrong with the update and its very strange

    on my main site http://www.antifmradio.com
you can see the player by scrolling over the ON DEMAND STREAMING MUSIC tab in the center of the page

but im using the same player via an IFRAME On one of my djs websites
    http://www.nickdiablo.com
you can see the same player withe a diff skin loaded in the center of his page.

when i say its the SAME player i mean
ITS THE SAME files being called out via an IFRAME

    Mine shows up correctly
while his shows up with DEMO on it

Thank you for the alternatives :) I also found some at a site called Flash Den.
This one is a XML player, took me a bit to figure it out because Im not much of a flash editor but it works http://www.flashden.net/item/premium-xml-mp3-player/22221
And there's more prettier ones on there too that I haven't tried yet. Also noticed a wimpy button alternative that looks very nice http://www.flashden.net/item/mp3-button-player-component/20302

You just sign up for a login and password if you want to buy something (and there very cheap), then you just add however much dough you want to your account through paypal or where ever and you can buy whatever you want according to your credits you bought. Again, Im not real savvy with some these scripts or flash players so make sure you ask them questions before buying but some look pretty darn great (better than wimpy even).

OK, I know, It's been like 5 minutes since my last post, I'm sorry... BUT, if you want to play from a playlist, with album cover art etc, I found ANOTHER player....

    http://musicplayer.sourceforge.net

They also have a "button" player like the Wimpy Button..

Not updated since 2006, and STILL works with flash 10!!

    Did I mention, FREE!!

    http://musicplayer.sourceforge.net
"Music Player is Open Source Software, licensed under the BSD and can be used and modified by anyone, including for commercial purposes."

    Couple more free alternatives...
    =================================
Free for Non-Commercail, Cheap for commercial, supports playlists, plays video and audio, I own this one also but have never used it for audio, the video part works great.

Anyway, there are other players out there..

For anyone looking for a replacement for a replacement of the Wimpy "button" for playing single mp3's

This is a wordpress mp3 player button, but there's a tutorial on how to make it work on NON Wordpress sites.
    Free!!

    Button Script:
    http://www.1pixelout.net/code/audio-player-wordpress-plugin/

Tutorial to get it to work on non-wordpress sites:
    http://www.macloo.com/examples/audio_player/

I'll be trying this in the next week or so, I know the button works on other sites, as I've seen it before, just never knew where it came from.

We've done some customizing of our current wimpy button so it will play a random track out of our current 2400+ every 15 minutes. So wish me luck getting this one to do the same. And Good Luck to the rest of you!
    December 9, 2008
Got the player working, so if you only need a player to play a single mp3, podcast, etc, the one I listed above works great, and got it working fine with our random track scripting, No lies, it took like 10 minutes to install, and it's free, but he's got a PayPal button on the site for donations, I'll be donating, but no longer to the Wimpy people...

You can see it working on my site here.. http://www.beastiemixes.com/podcasts.php
Or on the front page here http://www.beastiemixes.com (I haven't prettified this one yet)
