Flash Player Downloading, but can't see content.

I have been trying to install Flash Player for three days now. I have gone through every support step that was listed and still I can't see any content. Started with the install, didn't work; next came the unistall and reinstall didn't work. Upgraded browser, didn't work. Checked IE settings, didn't work. Checked Admin access, didn't work. Look in registry (as per adobe support instructions), nothing wrong. I also have Norton Internet Utilities and I went into the firewall settings and allowed all active x and flash content, still nothing.

Please, please, please, help!

SubInACL worked great, but you need to follow through with all the steps Darren gives you to make sure that you are not running the fix without having the conditions. Kudos to Adobe for taking the time to call from CA to PA and fixing a Microsoft problem! If more companies support pages were like this, there would be a lot more happy users. Listen to what Darren has to say, he knows what he is talking about. Well, again, thank you to Adobe and happy flash design!!!

    Hi Darren,

I tried emailing to the hotmail and it said it was undeliverable. I posted message below. Thank you for any help you might have

I looked at a lot of your posts and I feel like I have tried almost everything on them and still cannot see any content from Flash.

I did the SublnACL download, looked at the system registry,(i did not have a power user on there but how do i know if i have XP Pro or just XP? I figured if i had just XP then I should not put power user in there? i just don't know, besides that everything matched up in the registry.)

I can get Flash to download and I see it is installed when i go to my COntrol Panel and look at Add or Remove Programs, i see it there. But, when I go to a internet page that needs it, it says that i do not have flash player and i need to install it.

thanks for any help you might have.

    Hi,
Does anyone has a real working solution ?
After I installed the latest flash player I've got the following problem.
All web sites and animations are displayed well. But when I restart my PC ( I'am using Vista ) a lot of web pages are asking me to install the latest flash player ( but it is installed ).
I'm looking for a solution since 2 weeks. Can anybody help me please.
It would be great if Adobe could also be a little more helpful. Because I see that many people do have problems with the latest player.
    Thank a lot for

    Hi plusltd,

I’m not sure if you read through this forum post, but the solutions offered are helping these customers. Most of the customers that I have worked with have Windows permissions issues that prevent products from installing correctly. These permission issues are typically caused by running 3rd party registry cleaners. That is why we suggest using Microsoft’s SubInACL tool to fix this Windows issue. Not being able to install applications may be a result of having this issue. Your specific issue may be different, but I will still be able to help you with it.

    Hi Darren,

Thanks for your reply. ( Sorry but where do I find the case number ? )

I read through the posts in this forum and tried a lot of things but my problem still goes on.
Once again: I am using a new notebook with OS Windows Vista Home Premium since about 6 months.
I had no problems at all with the flash player since I installed the latest version 2 weeks ago.

A lot of web pages don't show the flash animation when I restart the PC.
I uninstall the player and reinstall it again - everything works fine. But when I close the PC and open it again the problems starts again: some web pages show the flash animation, some don't.

When I try to install the latest player from the Abode page, I got a message that the latest player is allready installed but it dont work in a lot of pages. So I have to uninstall and reinstall again and again.

I don't know what to do.
Would be very heppy for all help.

    Thanks a lot

I've installed the player without any problems on all of my machines. Two of them work fine now. However the third one is having problems with playing flash movies. It call the player but... nothing. I think there's a conflict with one of the video editing programs 'cause I have a few of those on that particular system. I don't want to uninstal all of them to find out which one causing the problem. So, I'd like to know whether ther is a list of progs that will screw with flash player. Thnx

    Hi Neil,

I escalated a case for you (180189557) and sent you an email with some initial instructions. After we get this straightened out we can repost what the issue was and the solution.

Also, I would ignore any forum posts that has advertising links (the blue links that go to completely unrelated commercial websites), they are most likely just spam.

I have Windows XP Home with IE 7, I updated that yesterday just to make sure,

Im having all sorts of problems with Flash Player, it may be a registry issue, but not sure.

Flash Player has stopped working, all sites say I do not have latest version and direct me to the download page.

If I check in System 32 /Macromed/Flash - I have version 9.0.124.0, it does look like it downloads OK, I never see the flash video after installation, but I get the installation succesful message.

I have checked the HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT settings and look OK, (although I dont have a 'Power User', I dont think this is the reason is it??)

I CONFIRM I HAVE USED REGISTRY CLEANERS, Registry Mechanic, not so much in the past, but in the last few weeks I have used it quite a lot, thinking it may solve my Flash Problem.

I have downloaded SubInACL and ran the reset_minimal.zip but this has not worked either.
I have also ran a System File Checker scan this morning twice to see if it would fix it, neither of them reported a problem, and didnt ask for an XP CD.

I also wonder, I read somewhere today about the dll cache folder, and it may be something to do with it, but my SYSTEM 32 FOLDER DOES NOT HAVE A DLL CACHE FOLDER!!! ??
I was looking for a framedyn.dll file, if that has anything to do with it, but cant find one anywhere!!

Hope you can help, I also sent this to your hotmail. Thanks

    Hi Starsailor616,

Please open a support case and reply with the case number or send me a private message with your contact info.

We have noticed that some 3rd party REGISTRY CLEANERS alter the system registry that may prevent software installations, but I would need to look at your system to diagnose the issue.

    Hy,
i have the same problem, i can´t download Adobe flash player. Everytime i try it i get that message:
    Error during Flash Player installation:
'Failed to install. For Troubleshooting please see: http://www.adobe.com/go/tn_19166'
I have gone through every support step that was listed and still I can't download. Started with the install, didn't work; next came the unistall and reinstall didn't work. Internet Explorer ActiveX settings were all right but still didn´t work. Then downloaded SubInACL and the reset_minimal.zip file (Extracted the reset_minimal.cmd file to C:\Program Files\Windows Resource Kits\Tools\. , Double-clicked reset_minimal.cmd. , opened that thing it opened a black box where these lines started running and then it was finished, then i restarted and tryed to download flash but still couldn´t). Then i tryed that :
    1. Select Start > Run
    2. Type in “regedit”
    3. Right click on HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT
    4. Select Permissions
    5. Select Advanced
But there was nothing under permission entries. It doesn't look at all like the example.
I have Windows XP home edition.
    Please, Please, Please HELP:((((!

    Hi liizzzuu,

If HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT has no groups or names in it, the Windows system registry may be corrupted. Please either open a case and reply with the case number for me to take over, or send me a private message with your full name, email and phone number and I will try to help you solve this issue. After it is solved we will report the solution back on this forum thread for others.
