I have been trying to install Flash Player for three days now. I have gone through every support step that was listed and still I can't see any content. Started with the install, didn't work; next came the unistall and reinstall didn't work. Upgraded browser, didn't work. Checked IE settings, didn't work. Checked Admin access, didn't work. Look in registry (as per adobe support instructions), nothing wrong. I also have Norton Internet Utilities and I went into the firewall settings and allowed all active x and flash content, still nothing.

Please, please, please, help!

SubInACL worked great, but you need to follow through with all the steps Darren gives you to make sure that you are not running the fix without having the conditions. Kudos to Adobe for taking the time to call from CA to PA and fixing a Microsoft problem! If more companies support pages were like this, there would be a lot more happy users. Listen to what Darren has to say, he knows what he is talking about. Well, again, thank you to Adobe and happy flash design!!!

    Hi heidi719,

Important Note: These online forums are for user-to-user discussions of Adobe products, and are not an official customer support channel for Adobe. If you require direct assistance, or prefer to contact Adobe support staff directly, please contact Adobe support.

That being said, Webkinz is a site that needs an account that I don’t have. (I think you have to purchase a toy pet from them in order to get an account).

I don’t have the time to take care of a pet from Webkins and it just wouldn’t be fair.

If you would like to supply me with the account information; I could test it for you.

Are you able to view other Flash content on the web? For example can you see this version detection page?

    http://www.macromedia.com/software/flash/about/

    Thanks for answering Darren,

I don't have an account for Webkinz.com because when I get to the home page and click on "new Member" button it opens another window and does not load just a plain white page and when I right click it says more about Adobe media Player. It says I have the flash player installed on my system and I have tried everything you suggested on this topic. I am able to view the content on this site as well.

I have exactly the same problem as everyone mentioned here, and I can NOT even see the Permission under the HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT. Can you help me, Darren, please. My computer was crashed, I have to reinstall everything here, including the Flash Player, because I have a programm using the Flash Player. Oh, I have XP Pro for a small business.

Have you tried to follow these instructions?

If this issue is related to incorrect permissions in the system registry, we have been using the following instructions to resolve these issues.

Please download the following to your desktop.

    http://www.supportflash.com/reset_min.zip

    1. unzip the “reset_minimal.cmd” and the “subinacl.exe” to the desktop

*** Make sure both files are on the desktop***

    2. Close out all applications
    3. Run the “reset.cmd” file
    4. It will open a DOS like terminal
    5. When it is finished it will say “press any key to continue”
    6. At this point you can download the latest Flash Player from here:

    www.adobe.com/go/getflashplayer

    Darren,

I read a few of your help messages and am having the same problems. I just did a scan with Norton and once it was complete an error message popped up saying:; error box at start up saying. hirp.exe. unable to locate component Frnu.dll this application has failed was not found Re-install application may fix problem.

Now I cannot get online, I cannot download a site I found in one of your return messages to fix the problem. I tried to do a go back to fix the problem as I am running windows XP but it will not return the drives that have been deleted. can you please help.

There are a lot of HKEY_USERS listed under the registry with Norton (actually 301)
    and 2 processes malwarealarm.exe

I know it would be more helpful if I could send you all the entries but I cannot get online with my laptop and am using someone else's computer to send this email.
    Thank you

This most likely happened because you installed a beta version and tried to downgrade the version. That is the error message that you would get.

    To resolve follow these instructions:

hello world . i think i may have cracked it:
to fix this issue follow these instructions:
uninstall all flash players ,plugins and active x controls,
navigate to c:/windows/system32/macromed/flash and delete all the files if there are any
install flash player active-x or plugin or both
run as administrator: npswf32_flashutil.exe if you installed plugin or flashutil9e.exe if you installed active-x
then it will tell you to restart. so restart
navigate back to the flash folder and right click flash9e.ocx
select propeties and under the security tab check no accounts have special permitions have deny ( exept ANONOYMS LOGON IF YOU HAVE IT)
if there is a account other that anonoyms logon has deny edit it by clicking advanced, clicking the account (with deny in the first coloum) and then edit...
again click the account (with deny in the first coloum) and then edit... and uncheck the deny boxes.

now open up another internet explorer window and view flash content

if you cannot open multiple flash objects for example you can watch one video and the other says movie not loaded do the following:
after going throught my steps in my last post,
go to add/remove programs and uninstall all flash plugins/active-x controls
navigate to c:\windows/system32/macromed and delete the flash folder
    go to http://www.adobe.com/shockwave/download/download.cgi?P1_Prod_Version=ShockwaveFlash&promoid=BIOW
    install the flash active-x control.
now the flash folder should be re created, go into it
you should see 4 files (flash9e.ocx, flashutil9e.exe, install.txt, uninstall_activex.exe) and now all flash should work.

try opening multiple webpages with flash content. (no restart required in these steps).
    enjoy

I've installed and uninstalled and reinstalled. That didn't work. I looked at my registry to see if that was the problem and it doesn't seem to be the problem. I even downloaded firefox because someone said it worked for them there when it didn't on IE...well that didn't work for me. so what do i do now?
