I have been trying to install Flash Player for three days now. I have gone through every support step that was listed and still I can't see any content. Started with the install, didn't work; next came the unistall and reinstall didn't work. Upgraded browser, didn't work. Checked IE settings, didn't work. Checked Admin access, didn't work. Look in registry (as per adobe support instructions), nothing wrong. I also have Norton Internet Utilities and I went into the firewall settings and allowed all active x and flash content, still nothing.

Please, please, please, help!

SubInACL worked great, but you need to follow through with all the steps Darren gives you to make sure that you are not running the fix without having the conditions. Kudos to Adobe for taking the time to call from CA to PA and fixing a Microsoft problem! If more companies support pages were like this, there would be a lot more happy users. Listen to what Darren has to say, he knows what he is talking about. Well, again, thank you to Adobe and happy flash design!!!

Hi Mr McNally, I´m experiencing the same problem of many other users, the HKEY_CLASSE_ROOT blank. I´ve tried to follow the exact steps using MS SUBINACL.EXE to recover my Register, but the problem persists, the blank Register.
Please, can you help me because I´m really tired with this matter ?

Darren, thanks for the PM. It seems to be working now. Thanks for your quick response! I'm sure you can help someone else at this point; I don't want to take up your time. Thanks again.

Yippee! I tried a solution that someone posted a couple pages back (many thanks) and it worked perfectly! Just hope it stays working.

Well, add me to the list. Flash used to work perfectly before the latest version. It does work in FireFox. I sent you a PM, Darren, but I'm sure you're beyond swamped. I have XP Home or I would try the download for the registry. Thanks for any help from anyone.

Darren...how do I send you a private message? I don't see the "send private message" option you mention. I need your help re the same issue as many others - flash player not working on Windows XP. Please advise. Thanks!

I'm having a different type of problem which doesn't seem to be related to any of the other issues discussed here. If someone sends me a link with a .swf extension, all I get when I click on it, is a blank page, however, if I go to the web page and find the video, Flash Player works fine. I didn't seem to have this problem until I upgraded to the current version of FP.

    Hi R3G1menT4L,

Please send me a private message with your phone number and I will help you resolve this issue. In addition, did you open a case with tech-support at Adobe? If you did, send me the case number in the private message as well.

As above i even spoke to Adobe tech support tbh i dont think they have a clue and advised me to let users have admin rights errr hello what planet where you born on, the tech support guy insisted that it wasnt an adobe error but i cant see that, esp when there are so many prob on these forums and other forums to do with flash 9.

I have the same problem on machines that have 2k, xppro with ie 6

the flash unistaller does nothing for users profiles and the registry hax are pants also, please let there be an alternative to this or any one with an idea.

For the ones saying that it HAS to be an adobe problem as its only with flash player that it occurs. Well i can correct you on that, the first time i had to do the regedit fix was installing nortons on XP i tried and tried and tried when someone told me about this fix. Soon as i changed the permissions on the account boom it installed perfectly. Later on another reinstall of windows i couldnt get my daughters games to load correctly, it was the same problem soon as i changed the regedit it worked perfectly. It is a Windows problem and i find it pretty sad that i have to give myself permission to install certian things that affect the key registary. But such is life.
