I have been trying to install Flash Player for three days now. I have gone through every support step that was listed and still I can't see any content. Started with the install, didn't work; next came the unistall and reinstall didn't work. Upgraded browser, didn't work. Checked IE settings, didn't work. Checked Admin access, didn't work. Look in registry (as per adobe support instructions), nothing wrong. I also have Norton Internet Utilities and I went into the firewall settings and allowed all active x and flash content, still nothing.

Please, please, please, help!

SubInACL worked great, but you need to follow through with all the steps Darren gives you to make sure that you are not running the fix without having the conditions. Kudos to Adobe for taking the time to call from CA to PA and fixing a Microsoft problem! If more companies support pages were like this, there would be a lot more happy users. Listen to what Darren has to say, he knows what he is talking about. Well, again, thank you to Adobe and happy flash design!!!

I too am having difficulties in regard to viewing Flash content.

I have followed all of the below suggestions but still, it is not working. I have also tried repairing through the Flash un-installer, I have a message that states:

Enter the full pathname to the Installation file with the follownig attributes:

    %s

    Source Pathname:
    C:\DOCUME~1\Damien\LOCALS~1\Temp\GLB19.tmp

I click on OK. The message then pops up again.

Why does this message occur and what can I do to fix it?

    To All:

If you have tried every fix posted in this topic, go to the main page and read my "Non-Flash Player Problem from Hell!" posting. It might help!

Thanks to Darren for his efforts! He gave me the idea to look into it being a JAVA problem and not a FLASH one. This led me to troubleshoot my firewalls, which is where the problem resided. Thanks, Dude!

I can't seem to find your posting called "Non-Flash Player Problem from Hell" I have the hirp.exe error calling for Frnu.dll. Can you send it to me at sfrobster@gmail.com? Or tell me where to find it?

    Thanks

    Darren.
I don't think my problem ever made it to you. But I 1/2 fixed it. my nick name on site is 21xiF. It did appear on list though. Anyway I had same problem with Registry Permissions being blank also and not being able to use flash player. what I did while waiting for reply from you was: I typed in All Users in permissions registry list. This corrected problem BUT I now get an error box at start up saying. hirp.exe. unable to locate component Frnu.dll this application has failed was not found Re-install application may fix problem. Do you have any answer for this? All things work just a annoying box to x off at start up. Thank.21xiF

    Darren,

I read a few of your help messages and am having the same problems. I just did a scan with Norton and once it was complete an error message popped up saying:; error box at start up saying. hirp.exe. unable to locate component Frnu.dll this application has failed was not found Re-install application may fix problem.

Now I cannot get online, I cannot download a site I found in one of your return messages to fix the problem. I tried to do a go back to fix the problem as I am running windows XP but it will not return the drives that have been deleted. can you please help.

There are a lot of HKEY_USERS listed under the registry with Norton (actually 301)
    and 2 processes malwarealarm.exe

I know it would be more helpful if I could send you all the entries but I cannot get online with my laptop and am using someone else's computer to send this email.
    Thank you

    Hi!

My customer is local admin. But she can't run the installation. I can as sysadmin. I've uninstalled and installed stand alonde flash player and run the updater file on C:\Win..\System32\Macromedia\... restarted.

The installation seems complete but when she visits a webpage tha requiere flash player it prompts her to install one.

The regedit files look like in your example.

    Any other idea?

I was having several problems with this myself, 2 users only one could see flash and the other was prompted to install flash, XP Home. I did post twice to this forum also seeking assistance. Last night I came across this thread:
    http://192.150.14.120/cfusion/webforums/forum/messageview.cfm?catid=184&threadid=1148342&enterthread=y

Topic Title GETTING TO BE A REAL PROBLEM!!!!

I downloaded the FlashRepair.exe (From this other thread) and then I ran the Flash uninstall program.

I then reloaded the Flash Player from http://www.adobe.com/go/getflashplayer

    I then ran the FlashRepair.exe.

I then tried the other user account and Flash was working under all users.

I hope that this information may help somebody else.

    Good Luck

I am throwing in the towel in hope that Darren will someday respond to my calls for help! I have done EVERYTHING the forum has listed to no avail. I have reinstalled Vista Business, upgraded to Vista Ultimate, but whenever I boot the PC 4-5 times, the problem comes back.

By the way, that FlashRepair tool is only for WinXP. It will not run in Vista.

Darren, please help me with this!!

This is a very peculiar issue, and not necessarily related to Flash Player. Mike is unable to view websites that end with .jsp

    For example: http://www.delta.com/home/index.jsp

There is no Flash content on this page.

We verified that he has Java installed

Has anyone else every experienced this issue?

As I have been reading that everyone has problems with flash 9, as I have been experiecing the same thing, downloading it and not showing up in the programs. It is causing me major headaches. Is this problem related to upgrading to explorer 9 or some add ons that might cause this I added google toolbar. also if I did a system resore from before this happen and/ or download flash8 will the program end until the assh@@@@ at adobe fix this problem.
