Substance addon broken in blender 3.0

I have a team of 10 people working on texturing scenes in blender 3.0. for a production. All of them report the same issue. The addon is not working for any anyone in blender 3.0. All are using windows 10:

Substance painter addon works for the first few items in the scenes. As they continued to texture the scene the textures turn black and can no longer be viewed. If we revert to blender 2.93 no issues. Blender 2.93 is not an option for us. We have to rely on the plugin because the substance to blender workflow does not work for us for rhe large scenes. We are actually using this in production. Is this plugin supported in blender 3.0?  If not when will it be?

Adobe ruined the substance 3D addon. They buy small companies, make them paid, and ruin them. They don't want users to use Blender. They want them to use paid services.

Hi @ustamalaz , a 2.0 version of the add-on is in development with a release planned in the coming months to address the community feedback we've collected so far. As with the other Substance plugins for third-party applications, the Blender add-on is free to use.

Hi,

Are you still encountering this issue? Could you please try completely uninstalling the previous version of the addon and re-installing the latest version of the plugin from the prerelease page here:https://www.adobeprerelease.com/beta/68A24EE2-2EA8-416F-D95B-23B8E64E5DE8#. Please let us know if you're still having issues.

Unless you have rolled out an update from v4 or Integration Tools v. 1.2.3, the issue still persists.
As mentioned above, it works fine for 1 or 2 sessions after a complete reinstall, but it's not usable any more after that.

I have done some tests today since I have had exactly same problem. I have maybe found a workaround, at least it seems to work. You go into edit mode and choose all faces and Assign the Sustance material. At least give it a try

Same problem for me.
I'd call the plugin rudimentary, at best. Works okay for the first run. It clutters up the scene custom properties very bad, so you end up with tons of custom properties. And eventually it just stops working all together until you reinstall it.

I'm really surprised Adobe released this plugin as a stable solution.

hi, @Akash J
Are you referring to this problem: "It clutters up the scene custom properties very bad, so you end up with tons of custom properties. And eventually it just stops working all together until you reinstall it."?

I had the same problems when I updated to 3.1. After Re-downloading the add-on and integration tools, I works again, even updated. Hope this helps.

I have the same issue. When I try to attach the materials, it doesn't work at all. I tried uninstalling the add on and re-installing it, but it's still not working. I thought I was the only one who had this issue.

Same issue on Blender 3.0.1

Actually, its not working in Blender 2.93 either. After a few days same issues show up. Here are some of the issues we have seen accross the team

1) Substance plugin material editing option suddenly dissapears and we can no longer edit things like color, etc via the plugin

2) Textures turn black and can no longer render or be viewed in view port.

3) Can no longer add textures to new materials in the same. Nothing happens when texture is applied.

In all cases, after some time one or more of these symptoms show up after a few days and even previous versions of the file that was backed up do the same thing. Ram and CPU usage are normal so no issues there. We cannot use substance painter  without the plugin in blender because all workflows that we have tried is way too cumbersome and slow. As we have pretty large scenes and lots of textures to apply, without the plugin in blender substance is not an option for us.

We decided to ditch substance painter and use other third party materials in blender in the meantime. Everything has been stable so far and our project has been progressing smoothly. Only issue is that we dont have a nice and easy gui to change colors and other parameters for the materials without using the nodes in blender.

Hi @Flmly, issue 3 is a bug we are currently tracking and are working towards fixing.

Are you still encountering these issues 1 and 2 in Blender 3.1? I'd also suggest completely unintalling the previous version of the addon and installing latest version from the prerelease page.

If the issues persist could you let me know what render engine is being used and weather the materials also appear black in the material preview? When the material editing options dissapear, does this refer to the parameters in the Susbtance 3D Panel or is it the nodes for the material that do not generate?
