Substance Plugin for Blender 4.0

Cant seem to make the addon install/work with Blender 4.0. Is that because it is not updated for Blender 4.0 or is it a bug? And will it be updated for Blender 4.0 and when?

    Hi @goodwinds9690194 , thanks for letting us know. Is this issue occuring with a pre-release version of the 2.0 addon or are you using our latest release version from here? https://substance3d.adobe.com/plugins/substance-in-blender/

     

    As 4.0.3 is one of Blender's daily builds, I recommend sticking with 4.0.2 for now and we'll monitor beta builds for any potential breaking changes.

    Hello, I'd like to try the updated addon for Blender 4.0. I have a few projects that I need to update.

    Hi @mtames , if you can share your email we can add you to the prerelease to acess the downloads.
    Note that there have been major changes to the plugin. When updating a project made with the older version of the plugin, some materials may break. Because of this, we recommend exporting your Substance material settings as presets, and re-importing them after upgrading if needed.

          Sounds great with a resolution. So the addon 2.0 won't work with  Blender 4.0? Is there any time frame for when it will be available and working for Blender 4.0? On another note, as Unreal Engine 5.4 will be public released 2024, can we expect to have to wait some time for the Substance addon to be upgraded for 5.4 or can we expect a rapid/simultaneously release, would be great hehe. Thank you
