FrameMaker halts, when I want to create PDF

Hi,

FrameMaker 18.0.0 on Windows 11

I create my PDFs with Distiller.

When I click Save as PDF, FrameMaker does something and then shows this message:

Are you sure that this file is from a trustworthy source and you want to convert it?

Usually I click Yes, as I want to get my PDF, and then FrameMaker/Distiller creates the PDF. However, just now I clicked No (out of curiosity), and then FrameMaker halted, and I could not get it to continue. I had to shut it down.

Does anyone know, why this happens? Is this a FrameMaker fault or a Distiller fault?

Best regards, Winfried

How to Turn Off the Warning

    • Open Adobe Acrobat Distiller.
    • Go to Preferences and choose Security.
    • Check the box for Trust all files opened via Acrobat Distiller.
    • You can also fix it in the Windows Registry by setting bEnableTrustedConversion to 1 under your Acrobat version preferences. [1]

That sounds like a Distiller “upgrade” feature to me. Does it appear when creating PDFs using the newer PDF engine?
