Fresco 5.7.0 crashing on Windows

Hi,

I installed Fresco on my new PC (Windows 11, NVIDIA RTX 5080 GPU with the latest Studio driver). The hardware is state-of-the-art.

I’m running Fresco 5.7.0. When I launch Fresco and try to create a canvas, Fresco crashes without warning. Uninstalling it sometimes fails, but occasionally works. The same goes for reinstalling it.

I have no idea what’s going on.

We’re aware of a recent surge in crashes for Fresco 5.7.0 on Windows. The team has identified the issue and has suggested a workaround:

Navigate to this folder location: C:\Users\<your-username>\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\
Delete this folder: typequest
Relaunch Fresco

Kindly try these steps and let us know how it goes.

I just started tonight. Installed Fresco and it opens then crashes and closes within 30 seconds over and over. I have sent reports and to start with it crashed before writing what was going on in the box. So I don’t think all those reports were sent. Damn well glad this is not a paid app. Is it going to get fixed. I have above the specs it needs.

Hi, I’m having consistent crashes with Fresco 5.7.0.1447 on a brand-new HP OmniBook X Flip 16 (Ryzen AI 9 465, Radeon 880M, 32GB RAM, Windows 11 25H2).

I’ve already reinstalled Fresco, updated Windows, BIOS and AMD drivers, reset Creative Cloud/Fresco, changed GPU settings and rebuilt the font cache. Nothing helped.

WinDbg consistently shows:

ExceptionCode: c0000005
Attempt to read address 0000000000000000
IMAGE_NAME: gemini_uwp_bridge.dll
FAILURE_BUCKET_ID: INVALID_POINTER_READ_c0000005_gemini_uwp_bridge.dll

I also tested Fresco 5.5 and it eventually crashed in the same gemini_uwp_bridge.dll with the same failure hash.

Is this a known Windows 11 25H2/Fresco compatibility issue? Is there a workaround or upcoming Windows update? I can provide the crash dumps and full WinDbg analysis.

I bought this 2-in-1 specifically partly for Fresco, so I’d really appreciate some guidance before my laptop return period expires.

Bonjour, j’ai exactement le même problème. Adobe Fresco 5.7.0.1447 plante systématiquement sous Windows 11 lorsque je crée un nouveau document. Le Moniteur de fiabilité indique le module défaillant gemini_uwp_bridge.dll avec le code d’exception 0xc0000005.

J’ai déjà mis à jour mon pilote AMD Radeon 780M, réparé Fresco, nettoyé le cache, relancé Creative Cloud et réinstallé Fresco. J’ai également essayé de mettre Fresco en « Hautes performances » dans les paramètres graphiques de Windows, sans résultat.

J’ai utilisé Adobe Log Collector et envoyé les journaux avec succès. Référence : AdobeLogs_20260914_074834_786-win-GS.zxp.

Pouvez-vous vérifier s’il s’agit du même problème que celui signalé dans cette discussion et s’il existe un correctif connu ? Merci.

Hi. whenever i turn open fresco on my PC it always suddenly closes. I don't know why. I open it and just about a minute after i open it Fresco freezes and the completely shuts down. This is getting annoying.
