Fresco 5.7.0 crashing on Windows

Hi,

I installed Fresco on my new PC (Windows 11, NVIDIA RTX 5080 GPU with the latest Studio driver). The hardware is state-of-the-art.

I’m running Fresco 5.7.0. When I launch Fresco and try to create a canvas, Fresco crashes without warning. Uninstalling it sometimes fails, but occasionally works. The same goes for reinstalling it.

I have no idea what’s going on.

Hello everyone,

We’re aware of a recent surge in crashes for Fresco 5.7.0 on Windows. The team has identified the issue and has suggested a workaround:

Navigate to this folder location: C:\Users\<your-username>\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\
Delete this folder: typequest
Relaunch Fresco

Kindly try these steps and let us know how it goes.

The exact same thing is happening to me. I have the exact same laptop too. I've tried everything. Every update, restart, troubleshoot, changed to 5.5. Everything! I also bought the 2 in 1 for the same reason so this is really frustrating.

The app will crash after about 10 seconds of launching it. I can try and draw or just literally launch it but the same thing happens.

I would not hesitate to believe that most people have tried all of these steps. I know I have, and none of them are working. People pay for a reliable product. I personally teach high school, and I have a personal adobe account that I pay for, as well as a work account. My students all have accounts that the district pays for. I teach a digital class and the first unit is Fresco. None of the 18 student units (Windows Surface Pros) are able to work right now because of whatever is causing this issue. Please. Stop giving advice that doesn’t work and fix your product. It is an incredibly disappointing fact that Adobe is not as reliable as it once was. Schools that pay for 1500 licenses for students to have an experience will withdraw and not pay for services and apps that do not work.

I am having the exact same problem. I have updated to the latest version of Fresco as it says the latest version is installed. It crashes immediately upon opening and gives me a crash report that I am unable to send because it closes Fresco before it can even be filled in. Totally unusable.

I wanted to try out Fresko but it sadly crashes every time I try to open a document

My PC

Windows 11 Pro
Processor: 11th Gen Intel Core i7-11700K @3.60GHz
Ram: 32 GB
Grafic card: 12 GB Nvidia GeForce RTX 3080Ti

I have a Wacom Cintiq 22

My grafic card and wacom drivers are updated. I switched my wacom to main screen, reloaded Creative Cloud. Started Fresko and it crashed while loading the document. I installed an earlier version of Fresko. Same problem. I don't know what else to do on my side.

Does it not work with Wacom Cintiq 22?
