I use the program on the daily, and was able to roll with a lot of the changes like a good sport despite how uncomfortable and frustrating it was and how much it delayed my processes. The learning curve is unnecessary, arduous, and is ultimately having a negative impact on my jobs, but like whatever, you know, I figured that’s life, I hope to get used it soon.
However, either the undo button or the home button needs to move, and it needs to happen asap. It does not work, it’s probably the worst change they could have possibly made, and I honestly can’t even wrap my head around the fact that this got past the testing phase, it’s absolutely insane.
My cortisol is spiked, on the verge of being way angrier than I have any business being on multiple occasions a day. There are times where I accidentally close the project like 5 times in a span of 5 minutes. Please, I have deadlines 😫 I’m about to find a new program if it’s not addressed soon.
Why?!?! Now, in order to get a ruler I have to select “Precision” > “Drawing aids” > toggle “Drawing aids” > them select the ruler!? You made a one click on bottom right to a 4 step process… plus another couple steps to put it away.
Yes, I’m using the “free” iPad version… if I were still paying, this nonsense would infuriate me and I’d have to look elsewhere.
This upgrade is very poorly thought out. the major issue is that undo is now right next to the home button. one slight miss tap means that from wanting to undo you are no locked into a mistake.
To echo the thoughts of other posters, years of muscle memory is hard to deprogram, and why should i have to, this was a pointless “refresh” done to mirror a competitor.
why on earth would i want the tools above what I’m drawing. it feels deadly oppressive, and kills my creativity. i have created so much of my work over years on fresco, but you have destroyed any future productivity in one fell swoop. this new interface is cheap. reminds me of procreate which is a program i cannot get on with.
Fresco was perfect, simple and didn’t have things in weird places. I would ask that you please change this back. You’ve made a day one fresco user feel a little soul sick.
@Abhishek Rao that is for your reply but it shouldn’t be: go this link and complain there it should be “we heard you and we are working it as quickly as we can” the updates in fresco look like someone who never used the app jumbled around everything without even knowing the shortcuts or the quick tabs of the pencil. It’s ridiculous. I pay a lot of money per month for professional tools within the adobe sphere. Please keep your tools professional.
I just love this app but I’ve now spent hours trying to get my tool bar back to the left again searching the internet I don’t mind change & updates i adapt to changing formats etc but this is upsetting & quite awkward to use please put it back together again, 80 year old
Same here, I’m a professional illustrator who’s been using Fresco for the last few years. The new UI is god-awful!! My favourite part of the mini palette is completely simplified to nothing, it’s so cumbersome and inefficient to use. It was a dream to squeeze my Apple Pencil and have the full colour wheel, recent colours, recent brushes, and the brush settings all in one. Not to mention that even opening the brush drop-down doesn’t automatically show recent brushes anymore, and I have to manually select it every single time now. This update is an absolute downgrade. Please roll it back immediately, or at least give us everyday users the option to switch back to 7.2. I’m now trying to rush some deadlines while juggling with this new UI that sucks.
I came for the same issue. Who thought it is a good idea to take the tools artists are used to and rearrange them the way they like? Muscle memory is a big part of drawing, so why take away the tools artists reach to by reflex? You mess up the whole process and can’t get into the zone anymore. Now I have to actively look for the tools I usually use with no problems.
Why not make their location on the screen customisable?
I understand that updates may come with changes, but in a program such as this it’s important to have options for the users. If the update is to replace the toolbar on the top, fine, but keep the option to put it on the left side (or the right for that matter) for us users, so we can decide on our own where to place it, so we can keep the workflow as good as possible. Please, for the love of god..put the toolbar back on the left side or at least make the option to have it wherever we like.
Now I’ve switched the tool properties to the right so I’m not worried about my left arm covering them (leftie) I’m actually ok with the toolbar at the top. Layers needs to be on the side but I don’t change properties of my tool as often so I guess I’m ok the way I use fresco now.
