Transform move tool keeps skewing/distorting objects

I've been having trouble with the free transform tool - it doesnt happen in all instances of use, but if I copy/paste an object, select an area of a drawing, or duplicate a drawing layer, when I try to resize or move it on the canvas with the free transform tool and I click and drag inside the transform box (not hitting any of the corner cursors) it skews/distorts the object. I can only move the object across the canvas without warping by spam clicking the nudge button, (which is a pain as it only moves the object the smallest amount)

 

I don't have the distort/skew etc buttons active when this happens, I am sure to click on the transform tool - yet I'm still unable to move it. Saving the document and reopening doesn't fix the issue, as the layers that have the issue continue to skew rather than move. It is only bound to certain layers or objects, one layer will transform fine but the next will skew. Is anyone else having this problem?

Would you mind sharing more details, like the exact version of Fresco/OS installed, the device make/model, and a screen recording of the problem (https://community.adobe.com/t5/illustrator-discussions/screen-record-an-issue-on-windows-amp-macos-for-sharing/td-p/12967727), so we can better assist you?

    Hi, I'm having the exact same issue and it's super frustrating. Using Windows 11, Fresco version 4.4.0, laptop Lenovo Yoga 6 13alc6. Please see the screen recordings attached.

      We understand how frustrating it can be to encounter technical issues while working in Fresco. Would you mind updating to the latest version of Fresco (https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/help/creative-cloud-updates.html) and checking if it helps?

       

      Also, kindly check if the display settings are set to use the default scaling and resolution for your monitor (https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/view-display-settings-in-windows-37f0e05e-98a9-474c-317a-e85422daa8bb) and share your observations.

      Came here for the same problem, it's driving me nuts! A workaround is too scale in and click move the object then, because that seems to enlarge the clickable non-distortion area. But that does not work if I want to move it a longer distance.
