Question

Changing default SVG settings

I work with one SVG file. Every time I make a new save on it when I first open the project, it defaults its CSS properties to "Style Elements" instead of "Style Attributes". Is there any way to change that? Because now I always use ctrl+shift+s to rewrite the same file each time when I open it again. But after that, any SVG project I open saves with the same parameters.

Do not use SVG as the file format for your work files.

Every time you "open" an SVG you are actually importing it. It's not a native file format for Illustrator.

I would love to, but the program I use to make videos only accepts SVG files, so there is no other way around this situation. It's not big of a deal, because it just takes me three clicks to fix it and start my work day. But I'm just wondering if there is a way to make it permanent.

Sure. But use SVG only as the final export format.

As long as you are still working on the file, save it as AI or you risk ruining the editing options.

Hello @HaoAsura,

Sorry to hear about your experience. Would you mind sharing some more details, like the exact version of the OS/Illustrator, a sample file (https://adobe.ly/41Skmjg), and a screen recording of the problem (https://adobe.ly/3tNzq56), so we can investigate this further?

Looking forward to hearing from you.

Thanks,

Anubhav
