I can't reedit closed path with Width tool and not show width tool handle in path

I am using Adobe Illustrator CC 27.9 version. I tried to edit closed path using width tool. But it was not handled after using width tool once. Not show width tool handle again for re editing. But older version can be done it. How to resolve this problem ?

Exactly what is happening? You get a "forbidden" cursor? Can you please show the selectedapth with the Appearance panel?
