Illustrator cannot read PNG

I was running Illustrator v27 and just realized it could not read PNG. By searching the Forum, it seems downgrading to a previous version is the fix..

 

Is v25 the laest version supports PNG?

 

Is this bug to be fixed in new v28 beyond?

    PNG can have a variety of options. So if you open it in Photoshop and then save it, does that work?

      Hi Ares,

       

      Thanks for the response. Unfortunately I cannot share the png at the moment [I will sort out copyright issue and circle back].
