Issues exporting OBJ files after 26.5 update

Whenever I export 3D text as an OBJ I run into some issues with the files. They seem to be either blank or really spaced out and unusable.

Hi @Hypnos Apollo,

We are sorry to hear about the trouble you are facing. I would like to know if resetting preferences as suggested by Monika helped or not? If not, would you mind sharing the OBJ & Illustrator file along with a small recording demonstrating the issue? Also, would you mind sharing your system specification & the exact version of Illustrator? It will be really helpful for us.

Looking forward to your response.

Thanks & Regards,

Anshul Saini

That doesn't happen when you first outline the text?

You could also try something else: convert the text object into a compound shape (text can stay editable that way) and then apply the 3D effect.

To convert it into an outline shape, use the menu of the pathfinder panel.

If that does not help, try and first apply the effet > Path > Outline object and then apply the 3D effect.

I outline the text then apply the 3D effect . Then I export as obj so I can use the obj in Adobe Dimension. This issue also comes up with 3D custom logos so its not just text objects.

You could try rebooting the computer, resetting the preferences and all the bovious stuff. If it doesn't help, then you can only make a bug report: http://illustrator.uservoice.com
