    Yes, you are right, Jacob.

Long ago, when I was a child and a young man I worked (or had to work) a lot in the steep slope viticulture. There are a lot of very steep vineyards in that region. Some gradients are up to over 60º (the one on the second picture is rather very harmless).

In the past there was no way to use machines to make it easier to harvest the grapes. There were only carrying cases and a lot of patience and hardiness.

Now the hillsides are white, but it won't last very long there. The river's heating will melt it soon, as always.

The position is a bit westwards. This time without the sun and the moon, but obviously with the real white stuff.

    Pictures taken today.

    Kurt,

Am I right in believing that we are looking at many white wine fields?

Of course, you may ask, Peter.

That's where I was born and where I spent about 25 years of my lifetime (long ago).

The place where the picture had been taken is about at 50.050052, 7.767826

    Good Night

Thank you, Kurt.  My guess was far closer than I dared hope.

    No, never fear, Jacob.

I was just going to show a raw picture my goddaughter took while hiking some days ago early in the morning. It shows some white stuff (well, not quite the one you are looking for), but as well it shows the sun in almost perfect harmony with the moon. And as an unexpected bonus: A ship.

A most exquisite and unusual picture, Kurt, please also tell your goddaughter.

    Kurt,

I hope your statement is less final than it looks.

Nothing like Hawaii, but I'll take it.

    Peter,

can you imagine how many animals or creatures I can see in your first image?

You see (some) of them as well, I guess.

My strongest vision is of an eagle attacking a herd of star-nosed moles. Or are they adolescent Cthulhus?

No snow for me, but the island of Hawaii has a blizzard warning with at least 12 inches of snow as well as hundred mile per hour winds.

Jane, no chance of your going there, and sending a 0% K proof?

It's only 5000 miles away, Jacob, but the National Weather Service has warned against traveling to the area, saying it "could be very difficult to impossible."
