Laptop Recommendations
Hi!
I'm an artist and I really need some help. I am in dire need of a new computer that supports Adobe CreativeCloud and Adobe Illustrator. I thought it was going to be simple to find one but I keep getting mixed reviews and there are so many options and details to consider. I just got out of college and I need to be careful with big purchases...and I am nervous that I'm going to waste my money on the wrong device. I am getting super overwhelmed with this whole process so if anyone can give me advice or recommendations I would really appreciate it. Heres where im at:
- I know that I do not want a Mac device. Right now I have a Surface Pro (which I absolutely love) but it is really old and does not meet the requirements for Adobe.
- I would love to get an upgraded Surface Pro but a lot of the newer Surface Pro's have the Snapdragon/ Snapdragon x Elite processor and I don't understand if that is compatible with Adobe Illustrator.
- I understand most of the system requirements but I am struggling when it comes to the processor.
- Would it be dumb for me to get a new Surface Pro? If so, I am open to other brands. I just don't know which one is the best.
Here is what I am looking for in a new decide:
- I would like it to be touchscreen so I've mainly been looking at 2-1 computers
- It would be ideal if I can get something for under $1500 but I don't know how realistic that is so my max budget is under $2000.
- Needs to fit under the Adobe Illustrator system requirements:
- Processor: Multicore Intel processor (with 64-bit support) with SSE 4.2 or later or AMD Athlon 64 processor with SSE 4.2 or later.
- Operating System: Windows 11 v23H2, v22H2, and v21H2, Windows 10 v22H2 and v21H2
- RAM: 16GB
- Hard Disk: 2 GB of available hard-disk space for installation; additional free space required during installation; SSD recommended
- Monitor Resolution:1024 x 768 display (1920 x 1080 recommended)
- GPU: To enhance Illustrator performance with the GPU Performance feature, your Windows must: Have a minimum of 1 GB of VRAM (4 GB recommended) Support OpenGL version 4.0 or greater. For optimum pan and zoom performance, a minimum of 1.5 GB of VRAM is required.
If anyone has some feedback please let me know and thank you so much for listening!
