Question

Lose Layer Panel view when I switch application focus

Hello everyone,
I am becoming increasingly frustrated with the way that Illustrator hides the info panels when you switch focus to another application. I frequently need to reference layer names in my documentation. When there are hundreds of layers in an image and I need to document several of them, this is extremely frustrating. I need to be able to switch back and forth between my documentation and Illustrator so that I can still see the layers list while typing. Has anyone figured out a way to do this that doesn't involve `Scroll+Screencap+OpenViewer+Switch+Type+RinseLatherRepeat`?
Thanks!

Hello @juliejacob,

Would you mind sharing some more details, like the exact version of the OS/Illustrator, system config (CPU/GPU/Memory/Display monitor(s)), and a screen recording of the problem (https://community.adobe.com/t5/illustrator-discussions/screen-record-an-issue-on-windows-amp-macos-for-sharing/td-p/12967727), so we can investigate this further?

Looking forward to hearing from you.

Thanks,

Anubhav

Is your layer panel docked or free? As an icon or expanded?
