Photoshop drag and drop files to illustrator not transparent

Hello there,

I am working on Photoshop and Illustrator 2021 and trying to understadnd why I can't drag and drop images created in photoshop to illustrator without a white background. Every time I drag and drop an image from photoshop, there seems to be a white background when it should be .tiff or png, any ideas?

Dragging and dropping while retaining the transparency does work in the Mac versions, but currently not in the Windows versions of the applications.

Try saving your Photoshop file and then, in Illustrator, place the PSD file.

Does the same problem occur?
