Please help - reflection tool for mandala project stopped working

Hey community,

I recently started drawing a mandala design with the following instructions, so that I only needed to draw in one pie piece and it would reflect around the whole mandala:

https://community.adobe.com/t5/illustrator-discussions/how-to-draw-mandala-using-illustrator/td-p/11840705

Unfortunately i've nearly gotten to the end of my manadal and the reflection has stopped working. When ever I draw a shape in the original pie piece it does not reflect in the others as it has been.

Does anyone know how i might be able to fix this?

Thanks in advance!

So you used an effect?

And when you did edits earlier, then it worked?

Maybe you have grouped your artwork before applying the effect. In that case you would need to double click the group and then make your edits.

Can you upload your file? You would have to change the file extension from .ai to .pdf, then you can upload it.,

I used the reflect tool and some layers and was able to draw in one piece of the shape and it would reflect in all others. I've tried to enter the separate groups (good idea), but this unforunately didn't work.

Here is a picture of the mandala. Where i've drawn the individual shape is the piece that should reflect, but as you can see it's only solo.

I do not know what you did there. Here is a video of what I would do. https://youtu.be/LQ0e2kD0ieQ

Alternative: You can use the repeat function. But the repeat function will not help you in your current situation, because it will not snap to the center of your existing mandala.
