Hi All,

We are sorry for this experience, @David33683667ynpe. We have already escalated the issue to the product team. The product team has requested to collect the performance log to further investigate. Here are the steps:

  • Close Adobe Illustrator > Launch Command Prompt > Paste the following command and hit Enter set AI_ENABLE_LOGS=1 && "C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Illustrator 2024\Support
On Mac, launch the app from the Terminal app:
    AI_ENABLE_LOGS=1 "/Applications/Adobe Illustrator 2024/Adobe Illustrator.app/Contents/MacOS/Adobe Illustrator"
  • Launch Illustrator and start using Text to Vector, and the logs then shall be accessible at
    Windows: %appdata%\Adobe\Logs\Adobe Illustrator\28.0\Adobe Illustrator\AIPerformance.log
    Mac: ~/Library/Logs/Adobe/Adobe Illustrator/28.0/Adobe Illustrator/AIPerformance.log
  • Upload this AIPerformance.log file to Google Drive/Dropbox and share a public download link here so that we can share it with the product team.

We appreciate your patience and understanding as we work towards a solution.

Best,

Anshul Saini

Hello All,

I see more and more users are experiencing issues with the Text to Vector Graphic (Beta) feature in Adobe Illustrator 2024. I want to reassure you that the Illustrator product & engineering team is actively addressing this problem on priority. They are working diligently to find a solution and resolve the issue as soon as possible. I appreciate your patience and understanding.

Based on the reports and on personal level understanding, it seems that this problem may be more prevalent on older Mac machines or those with lower hardware specifications. While the team is investigating and working on optimizing the feature, you might also consider trying this feature on a higher-spec or newer Mac if you have access to one, just to see if it behaves differently. This information could be valuable for the product team's investigation.

Thank you for your understanding, and I'll keep you updated as soon as there are any developments or solutions to this issue.

Best regards,

Anshul Saini

Hi Anshul. I have the same problem.
But I saw that my laptop got hot when almost finished the generative task. I think the video driver can't finish the operation.
I using a MacBook Pro mid-15 and don't have any compatible error messages.

Please try again.

I have the exact same issue here also. MacBook Pro Intel Core i7 2.2GHz 16 Gb RAM, OS Monterey 12.7. Takes a long time processing it and then at the end I also get the red box with the error "Something went wrong, please try again". It also slows down my entire macbook to a crawl and when I look at the CPU temperature it shoots up to 79˚C and the fan is working hard!! If I quit Illustrator it then comes back down to 47˚C and the fan goes off. If I reboot Illustrator and dont use the text to vector graphic function all is well, speed is normal as is temperature. Only when I use this new Beta function does it stop working. Hope this feedback is of help.

Cheers

With 8 GB of RAM it's not surprising that something does not work. Minimum recommended amount of RAM is 16 GB. 8 GB is just sufficient for Illustrator to launch at all.
