A week ago, Illustrator has started showing this message. The file was created on my account and using the same account ever since. What is going on?

    Hello everyone,

The product team has fixed this with the latest release of Illustrator. Kindly update Illustrator using the Creative Cloud Desktop app (https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/apps/manage-apps/creative-cloud-apps/update-creative-cloud-apps-automatically.html) and let us know how it goes.

This is still a problem in 2026.

    1. Create a file
    2. save it to the cloud
    3. try to open it later even sometimes in the same work session
    4. get prompted with this message

Sometimes turning off all adobe programs and Force Quitting the Creative Cloud Synchronizer fixes it sometimes it doesn’t.

But this effectively makes documents saved to the cloud useless

I have the same issue and it is UTTERLY frustrating.

We spend hours working on a file for it to decide not to open and then spend DAYS trying to solve an issue for a program that we pay hundreds every year that is SUPPOSED to make sure things like this doesn't ruin our whole WORK.

I TRIED EVERYTHING AND IT DIDN'T WORK

    I need my files.

@Rachel38744444mgd4 Is it this message: ““Can’t open file. The account you signed in with doesn’t have access to this file”?

There were a few more posts like this during the past few days.

I agree with Bobby that it is worth trying to download them from the Files section in the CC app.

Are your files stored in a cloud location? If you haven't already tried this step try opening the Creative Cloud desktop app, going to the Files section. Hopefully your files will be properly synced and visible there. If the files are visible try downloading the file that won't open to your computer's hard disc. Then try opening the file in Illustrator from that local disc location.
