Question

Tying grid to ruler movement

In old versions of Illustrator, when you moved the ruler origin point elsewhere, the grid aligned with the new spot. In this new version, the grid is completely locked, so moving the ruler origin just throws it all into mismatched confusion. Is there a setting that I am missing that would tie the ruler origin placement to the grid lines? TIA

I see the same thing. Checking in 21.0, gridlines shift when you drag out a new ruler origin. In 27.9, they don't -- though turning rulers off and on does adjust them.

However, it seems to work as it should in CPU mode.

In v21.0.0, it works correctly in both GPU and CPU modes.

Hi @Matt25413109z0bg,

We are sorry to hear about the trouble you are facing. I tried but couldn't replicate the issue at my end. Would you mind trying resetting Illustrator preferences? If that doesn't help, would you mind confirming the OS & AI version and sharing a small recording of the issue?

Also, is this happening in a specific file or all?

Looking forward to your response.

Thanks & Regards,
