Hello Illustrator Community,

I hope this message finds you well. I am in urgent need of assistance with a damaged Illustrator file that I have been working on for the past month. Despite trying various recovery methods, I have been unable to repair the file.

Could anyone please help me recover or repair this file? It would be greatly appreciated since I've been working on that file for a month.

Thank you so much for your time and assistance.

Jennifer

Hello @Jenn382166020kkq,

Thank you for reaching out to the Illustrator Community.

I have checked the file you provided, and it appears that most of its data is missing. It seems the file was recovered using a third-party app. To assist you further, could you please share the original AI file that was corrupted? This will allow us to perform a more thorough examination and attempt recovery.

Your patience and cooperation are greatly appreciated.

Best regards,
Anshul Saini

Jennifer,

I hope that @Anshul_Saini or @Anubhav M  can help.

Your issue is undoubtedly beyond some of the following.

If the document can be opened, it may be possible to copy and paste the artwork to a new document, possibly in groups/bits/whatever, by selecting on the Artboard (or wider) Workspace, or in the expanded Layer(s) in the Layers panel; the latter worked in this case,

In worse cases it is impossible to copy artwork over, but it may be possible to Place the PDF part (if any) of the ailing document, with some possible loss of finer details/construction.

And in even worse cases our Adobe friends are ready to try to uncorrupt a document, see this Helpx article; a full recovery may be possible so it can be better than the PDF placing.

Jennifer,

Have you tried the full non demo version and seen how much is actually recovered?
