What to do if you can't see your artboard(s) (boarders) on your drawing area?

I cannot visually see my artboard on my drawing area in illustrator. everything is white and I have tried to change the color in user interface but that is not it. I think I may have accidentally clicked shit+ command + something else or some random key strokes to make this not appear any solutions?

what about if everything outside the artboard is white instead of gray? I want the stuuf outside of the art board to be gray like they are normally.

Preferences > User Interface > Canvas Color > White?

Or is the visibility of all layers off?

command + shift + D. can be the solution. if you've done as I did and turned on "transparency layer" or something along those lines. (don't know the english name for the function, since I'm working in swedish..)

does not work, I can still see the preview outline of my art but not the actual work itself. very frustrating not have a simple solution to such an obvious problem.

Please tell us what exactly you have, which version and system this is, what you expect Illustrator to do and what exactly does not work.

Screenshots help understand. We can't see what's on your monitor.
