Hello, I am a creative cloud subscriber on my desktop. I want to install adobe illustrator on my iPad, but the App Store is saying I have to pay for the app. Can anyone tell me how to get the app on my iPad using my existing creative cloud account?

thanks!

I am experiencing this same issue. Did you ever get it resolved? I have a desktop CC subscription and now after I log in I'm being prompted by Adobe to pay an additional monthly fee for the ipad app. I'd love to not have to pay twice!

Hi @Gina28304513cwkr,

I understand your frustration. As a Creative Cloud subscriber, you should have access to the Adobe Illustrator app on your iPad. To resolve this issue, I would suggest trying the following steps:

  • Download and install the Creative Cloud app from the App Store on your iPad.
  • Log in to your Creative Cloud account in the app.
  • Find and tap on the Adobe Illustrator app.
  • You should see a "Download" or "Install" button; tap it to install Adobe Illustrator on your iPad.

Also, ensure that you are using "Continue with Adobe ID" while sign in instead of gmail option.

I hope this helps! Let us know if you need any further assistance.

Best,

I tried following your above steps, but the Creative Cloud app ALSO requires an in-app purchase. Any suggestions?

Maybe you should contact Apple Customer support.

Or try and figure it out with the help of Adobe Customer Care: https://helpx.adobe.com/contact.html

@Gina28304513cwkr

Illustrator on iPad is included with your Illustrator subscription. Try signing out and then sign in again. Use your Adobe ID (not your Apple ID).

Did you try signing out on the iPad, then signing in again with the same Adobe ID and PW you use for Creative Cloud?

If that fails, try deleting the app from your iPad, then download it again from the App Store on the iPad. Be sure to use the correct ID and PW to sign into Illustrator for iPad.

Hi Jane,

I'm assuming you mean to sign out of ADOBE on my iPad, but I do not have any Adobe products on my iPad at the moment. I subscribe to Adobe Creative Cloud for my laptop, so on my iPad, I used the Chrome browser to log into my Adobe Creative Cloud account, located the link to download Illustrator onto my iPad, and clicked on it, only to be taken to the Apple App Store, where the message "in-app purchase" pops up. I went so far to email myself the link from my LAPTOP to the download, as what I was seeing on my laptop showed "FREE" for the download. Not so, though, because when I opened my email on my iPad and clicked the link, it took me back to the Apple App Store and again, I got the message "in-app purchase" --this has been really frustrating and I don't want to pay an additional fee for installing on my iPad when everything I see says I can install it with my current subscription. Adobe isn't making something clear, for certain. And I received no help from chatting with Adobe. It was like they had no clue. 😞

Can you show a screenshot of that? Does the Apple Store demand the payment?
