Function : Removing Anchor Point With Direct Selection Tool

Hello, everyone. This is my first post.
I want to ask the developer team on Illustrator For iPad why the function 'removing an anchor point by tap-holding it with the direct selection tool (second tool from above) is removed. That function was beneficial and saves so much working time. Now the latest update I can't do that again. I have to select an anchor point and then select the 'remove anchor point icon' beside the delete icon (trash bin icon) to remove an anchor point. Could you guys please re-activate that function again? is it any conflict with another function if you guys put it back again?
