How do I outline strokes in Illustrator App for iPad?

I create designs for wall decals and laser cutting. When I'm creating designs using typography, sometimes I need to add a stroke to the fonts to make them more bold and suitable for cutting. In Illustrator software, typically I can:
Outline Text
Object - Expand
Merge
To merge the stroke with the font.

In the Illustrator app for iPad, I can put a stroke around text, then Intersect, then Covert to Path... but it still shows my outline and does not merge the stroke with the font to make it a solid, bolder font. I've tried different routes, but cannot seem to figure out the equivalent of Object> Expand > Merge in the app. Help?!

You need to first outline the text.

Then release the group

Then outline the stroke

Then apply the Pathfinder > Unite

Then flatten that.

I should add, after I type text, it won't let me "outline text" or "Object - Expand" in the app. It's greyed out and not clickable.
