Illustrator for iPad crashes when opening a file

Adding to this — I've been dealing with the exact same issue for 5 months now. Restarting, reinstalling, nothing helps. If I had known, I would have never updated the system!

The app is completely unusable, and Adobe's support is absolute silence. It's unbelievable that paying users are left with a broken app for so long with zero fixes.

So it’s been 3 months since my post close to 5 months since this has begun happening Adobe is useless and clearly has no intention of helping in any capacity at this point I’m closing my subscription and I would be surprised  if anyone hasn't done this already. Thanks for nothing Adobe for having a sub par product.

Mine also keeps crashing and I have to have it for college. It’s so frustrating. I've tried every recommendation and it’s still closing out whenever I open a file. I can’t work with it disconnceted from wifi because it has to save to my cloud for school.

I am experiencing the same problem. I have tried all the suggestions too and nothing works. Someone please help.

Illustrator on IPad crashes every time I try to open CC LIbrary to insert something. Every. Single. Time. Reinstalling Illustrator and closing it out and reopening doesn’t work.

Thanks for staying with us on this. We're aware of the recent surge in reports about Illustrator crashing on iPads, particularly on the 9th generation model, and we're actively working with the product team to resolve it.

In the meantime, we've also noted that several users have reported the app working when switching to Airplane Mode - worth trying as a temporary workaround while we work on the fix.

The issue has already been escalated to the product team on an urgent basis, and I'll update this thread as soon as we have more information. Thanks for sharing the crash logs and for your patience - both are directly helping the team narrow down the cause.

Let’s get real. Adobe is purposefully dropping the Illustrator app into insolvency in favor of other apps like Fresco. Except Fresco isn’t Illustrator and will never be unless it starts having proper math-driven bezier tools. So many bugs in the AI iPad app aren’t a coincidence. I had the crashing issue for nearly 6 months until it magically resolved itself and then other bugs started replacing that bug. Then the crashing bug reappears again. And no, there’s not much you can do because it’s almost 100% nothing wrong with your device. It’s the app software itself and Adobe’s poor management of it. Even low path files are prone to crashing. There comes a point when you start questioning the average Adobe rep response of: “let’s remedy this by trying the following steps,” as a copout to blame your end as the culprit for an app that is probably being retired and they’re not ready to announce it yet.

When opening an AI file on iPad, AI crashes. I’ve tried opening several projects and AI crashes upon opening. I’ve tried removing and reinstalling the app and restarting my iPad to no prevail. AI crashes when I try to create and open a new file as well. How do I remedy this issue?

I’m having the same issue ever since I updated my iPad I cannot access any of my files from my iCloud. I have deleted everything had a hard reset and installed the app multiple times. Does anybody know what to do with this issue
