I cannot currently use Illustrator for iPad. It launches but then quits as soon as I move the cursor over either tool bar. Has anyone encountered this problem.

is it iPad OS 17?

In that case you could try and disable the Apple Pencil effects in the system settings.

Yes I'm using iPad OS 17.2. I have tried a hard restart, and have tried disabling Apple Pencil effects without success. Apple Pencil won't work, only the use of a finger. And the app still crashes when I touch Illustrator's arrow button at the top left of the workspace.

Hello @Jeffrey33544260sipp,

We understand how frustrating it can be to experience crashes in Illustrator, especially in the middle of work. Would you mind updating the OS and the Illustrator app to the latest version and checking if it helps?

Also, kindly check if all of your work is synced online (https://adobe.ly/3U99rzT). If yes, try deleting Illustrator, restarting your device, and then reinstalling the app to check if it helps.

If the issue persists, kindly share the crash report so that we can investigate this further:

  • Open iPad Settings > Privacy & Security > Analytics & Improvements > Analytics Data. You will see file names like “Illustrator-2023-01-03-083327.ips” (2023-01-03 is the date in the log & 083327 is the time). Ensure you share the recent log file after the crash by looking at the timestamp.
  • Upload the file to (Dropbox. Google Drive, etc.) and share a link to the file here or via DM.

Looking forward to hearing from you.

Thanks,

Anubhav
