ILLUSTRATOR ON IPAD - KEYBOARD

I'm using Apple Pencil, but when typing text i want to use the full-size keyborad, not the little mini one in the little pencil bubble. Seems that using the pencil may deactiviate the full-size keyboard? Although I was able to bring it up once... not sure what I did.

Anyone else?
