Illustrator on the iPad - Bezier handle bug?

Hey there,

New to illustrator, learning on the ipad. I'm practising using pen tool at the moment.
Drawing continuous M curve arches line going across, and after drawing one curve, i select last point to

draw up the next two handles to project next curve, and only one handle appears..

I double tap on point and the second handle flickers on for a milisecond but disappears again.

It's frustrating. The only work around is to go into path select tool and from there i can activate the

second handle.. but this must be possible within the pen tool itself. Is there a bug here you think?

Would be grateful if anyone could advise.

Best,

Niall

Hello @Nickneachtain,

Sorry to hear about this experience. I hope the suggestions shared by Laura helped resolve the trouble with Illustrator. If not, kindly share some more details, like the iPad model, the exact version of the OS/Illustrator, whether the app also behaves this way with other files, and a screen recording of the problem so we can assist your further.

Looking forward to your response.

Thanks,

Anubhav

Hi Niall, I just tried to duplicate the issue on the iPad, and it's working normally for me - in terms of being able to draw and select anchor points, and handles and convert points by double tapping with the Pen tool. The part about the handle flickering sounds buggy. Could there be an issue with palm rejection? You may want to try quitting and restarting everything to make sure everything is reset and fresh. Work in a different file, and also re-pair your apple pencil. Let us know what steps you took to reset everything, and someone can further assist you here. Thanks.
