Layer panel objects are unresponsive

I've deleted several objects from the art board itself but they still appear in the layer panel yet are also totally unresponsive to touch and Apple Pencil.

Are you able to select the layers in the layer panel? If so, you can delete them once selected, even if they are outside the viewable area of the screen.

 

Can you show a screen shot with the layers panel open and one of these problem objects showing, if you're still having trouble?
