Opening multiple files in illustrator

Hi All,  Does anyone know if illustrator on iPad can open multiple files at the same time for copy and paste like desktop ? Your help is much appreciated.  Rico

Illustrator windows in iPadOS can only show one file at a time. I tried to open a second window using iPadOS side-by-side mode, and got this:

So, the answer would seem to be, "no." However, if you have a limited number of items to copy and paste between files, you can do it by this process:

1. Use the arrow tool to select the item to copy.

2. Long press on the "Duplicate" icon. You should see the message at the top, "Item copied to clipboard."

3. Close the first file, and open the second file.

4. Double tap in the second file to paste the contents of the clipboard.

Clumsy, but it works.
