Pencil tool too “free flow” since new update?

Until this new update, I was really enjoying creating stuff on my iPad.  As someone with a severe physical disability, I felt good that the pencil tool was a lot "tighter" and did great for me when I drew things but now it feels so much more free flow since this update.  It doesn't arch the same way or be straight as it was.  Maybe it's been slackened off too much; I need that wee bit more tightness and control that it had before.  I  don't know what it's even called or what's changed but for me, it feels completely different than before.  I don't know how to fix it.

If someone can help and let me know how to fix this, I would be grateful 😇

I'm on iOS 14.6 and illustrator iPad version 1.3

Hi Wee Moment,

I'm new to Illustrator on the iPad, but I think if you adjust the smoothing on the pencil to a higher number, the app does the work of smoothing out curves and straightening lines.

Once you select the pencil, look for the tilde shape ~ below the fill and stroke color selector. That's where you can find the smoothness setting.

Hope this helps.
