Saving colour swatches in illustrator on the iPad

I made a colour palette of several colours in one document and saved each of them as swatches. But I don't see any option to save them so that when I open a new document I can continue to use them?  I can only use them on the document that I saved them on which is quite useless.

 

How do I save them so that they appear on every new document that I create so that I can use them in multiple projects? is this possible?

Thank you for using Adobe Illustrator on the iPad and for your question about saving color swatches. Currently, swatches in Adobe Illustrator on the iPad are specific to the document you are working on, and there isn't a built-in feature to save them globally for all your documents.

 

However, there's a workaround you can use to access swatches from one document in another:

  1. Open the document with the swatches you want to reuse.
  2. Create a new shape or object in that document.
  3. Apply the swatch you want to reuse to that shape or object.
  4. Copy the shape or object to your clipboard.
  5. Open the new document where you want to use the swatch.
  6. Paste the shape or object you copied in step 4 into the new document. The swatch will come along with it.

 

This method allows you to transfer swatches from one document to another. It's not a permanent solution, but it can be a workaround to reuse swatches across multiple projects on iPad.

 

I also encourage you to upvote the feature request on UserVoice that suggests adding the option to save color swatches permanently across all documents.
