But basically, all you have to do is create a small text frame anywhere on each Parent page that you want the page number to appear:

Then, under the Type menu, insert Current Page Number:

Which will look like this on the Parent page:

and this on a text page:

If that same marker is on every Parent page you apply to the text, it will appear on all those pages. You can use the same marker on multiple Parent pages. The only reason a page number will not appear, as a linear value, is (1) if you use a Parent page without a page number marker, or (2) if you start a new section, which will also restart the numbering.
