I need to create a assignment on Adobe InDesign that is on a 8.5 by 11 page size.. How do I navigate to create this size document, step by step please.?

      1. Open Adobe InDesign.
      2. Choose File > New > Document.

      Fill out the specs shown in Derek Cross's screen shot, above and if you don't know what something means (i.e., "Primary Frame" or "Bleed") click on [Jongware]'s link above—which goes over the entire process and defines all of the terms.

      I'll point out that there are two versions of the New Document dialog box. Derek is showing you the legacy version. The same options are visible on the far right side of the new New Document dialog box:

        You specify the page size, the margins, bleed etc, and whether you want facing pages and a primary text frame in the New Document dialogue box.

        You'd be wise to also take some lessons (online such as Lynda.com and books such as Classroom in a Book series) in addition to asking specific questions on this friendly forum.
