I found the font but it will not install with Font Book. How can I remove it from the indesign font menu?

I opened a new document. I made a new text box and without typing anything selected the missing font from the indesign font menu. I was happy the application did not crash. Then I used the Find Font menu to reveal the font in the finder and delete it. I emptied the trash and it was gone from the font menu.

This was answered by Steve Werner in a past post.

You can find that post here. Removing unwanted fonts from Font Menu

    This is what he said...

Choose Type > Find Font. Click More Info. Click on a font, and either use the path listed to show where the fonts are installed. Or click the Reveal in Finder (on a Mac) or Reveal in Explorer (on a PC) button.

I saw that post but the Find Font window only shows the fonts used in that document. The font I need to remove from the font menu is not used in any document that I know of. If I try to use it in a document, indesign crashes.
