A Image over the rectangle frame with black?

It looks like the steam is just part of the coffee cup image with the patterned background and spoon. Doesn't Object > Arrange > Send to Back on the black frame work?

The only tricky part is that you need a second copy of the angular vector object which is representing with steam from the beverage. One is placed above the black rectangle, and the one is below where it is incorporated into the coffee cup art. If the art isn't vector, it's been masked with a hard edge.
