Bonjour !

Hi @7653456,

Thank you for the screenshots, and I'm sorry for the trouble this file is giving you. To help narrow this down, could you please confirm the version of InDesign and macOS you are currently using, as well as the version the document was originally created in? Also, let me know whether the file is saved locally or synced to the cloud.

Please try saving a fresh copy using Save As and then check if Share for Review updates successfully. If InDesign crashes again, and you see the Adobe Crash Reporter dialog, please submit the crash report and share the email address via DM, so I can look into the logs from my side using this guide: https://adobe.ly/44563dE

Another helpful step would be to export the file as an IDML, then reopen that IDML and save it again as a new INDD(under new name). Once done, try opening that new file and test Share for Review again, then share how it behaves.

If possible, please share the packaged file(if saved locally) via a public cloud link like Google Drive or Dropbox, so I can test the document directly. If the content is sensitive, you can send it to me via DM instead.

I'm here to help, and I'll keep an eye out for your update.

Abhishek

Hi Abhishek,

Thank you for the super quick response 🙂

InDesign 21.0.2/ MacOS Tahoe Version 26.1

Would you be able to help me find the document version? I have no clue how to get to that info 🙂

Initially, the document was created on my computer. However, from the moment I shared it with my clients, it became a cloud document (by the way, is that normal?). I tried to save it to my desktop, and as soon as I do that, I can no longer open this file. I wish i could package the document but it wont let me do it and i dont get any crash report. I only see the error window i've previously sent.

Thank you so much 🙂

Hi @7653456,

Thanks for the update. It is definitely possible to share a local file, but from what you described, it sounds like the document may have been manually saved to Creative Cloud before sharing, which is why it now appears as a cloud file. InDesign does not automatically convert local files into cloud documents without the user choosing that option.

Since the document is now acting like a cloud file, let us try a clean rebuild of the project to rule out file corruption. Please open the cloud version again and, once it opens, use Save As to export it as an IDML file to your local drive. Then open that IDML, save it with a new name as a fresh INDD file. After that, try opening the new INDD and check if InDesign still crashes with the earlier error. With that same INDD file, please also test Share for Review functionality by creating a new link and then updating the content to see if it syncs correctly.

Let me know how it behaves after testing. Looking forward to your observation.
