About Print Booklet Workflow and PostScript Export in InDesign
I am preparing a document in Adobe InDesign that needs to be sent to a print shop as printer spreads (for example: 40–1, 2–39, 38–3, etc.). For this, I use the Print Booklet feature.
In the preview, the imposition looks correct, but I want to make sure the final file will be received properly by the printer.
Previously, my workflow was to generate a .PS file from Print Booklet and then process it through Adobe Distiller to create the final PDF. However, I haven’t done this in several years and I’m now running into issues:
-
When I open the generated PDF, the pages appear as single pages instead of printer spreads.
-
The PPD option for PostScript export, which previously allowed proper output settings, does not seem to be working in the current version of InDesign
