I have downloaded two TrueType fonts (39 Smooth and Smooth Fantasy) to my Adobe fonts folder but I am unable to access them in InDesign. Can anyone help please?

These two typefaces are not Adobe Fonts and do not belong in your Adobe Fonts folder. Instead, typefaces are stored in the C:\Windows\Fonts folder.

Here is the help page from Microsoft for installing typefaces in Windows:

Why don't you just install them in your system?

If you're on Windows, find them using File Explorer, right click and choose install.

That's one way, Bob. Others are discussed in the page linked to above. 😊

    Hi Jane,

I didn't even see your post before answering but that second method (dragging them manually to the fonts folder) is really what the install command does in the background.

Regardless, this is just so basic and really has nothing to do with InDesign or any other specific application. If one wishes to use those fonts only in InDesign, they can be copied to the InDesign\Fonts folder.
