accessing photos in albums in Mac OS when placing an image

I am working on an art book and need to place photos that have been specifically segregated in an album. ID 2025, Mac Sequoia - only the main photo library is accessible. Is there a way to make the albums accessible? I have given ID full disk access.

Thanks in advance for any help or suggestions.

Hi @Catherine284762306smk,

Thanks so much for adding the request on UserVoice. As a best practice, it's always helpful to also share the link to your UserVoice post back here in this thread. That way, other users who come across the discussion and want to support the idea can easily upvote it, which helps the team prioritize it better.

Appreciate you taking the time to share your feedback!

Thanks - I didn't think of that. Here is the link:

Hi @Catherine284762306smk,

Thanks for reaching out. At the moment, InDesign on macOS can only access the main Photos library and doesn't display albums inside the Place dialog. I completely understand how valuable this would be for your workflow, and I’m sorry it isn't available right now.

It would be great if you could add this as a feature request on UserVoice here: https://adobe.ly/46jBEIQ. This helps the team prioritize based on feedback, and you'll also be notified of any updates.

In the meantime, if you have more questions or need help with a workaround, let me know. Our experts may also have additional suggestions to share on this topic.

Looking forward to your update.

Abhishek
