Want to add hidden character on/off button to top toolbar (I use the essentials classic workspace). Dislike typing the shortcut or going to Type > Show Hidden Characters every time.

Help?

InDesign doesn't allow you to add your own buttons or tools, sorry. You'll have to make do with what you've found already.

>> Dislike typing the shortcut

Don't want to be rude, but using shortcuts you looks more professional. In ID you can change any shortcut that you don't like to shortcut combination that you will like 🙂

Thanks but for me it's about efficiency; no one is watching me work.

I wish there were more interface customization tools.

While you look into the abyss, the abyss looks into you. What does anyone have to do with it? The question is personally "in you with you". Shortcuts faster than buttons.

Hi there,

Thanks for reaching out. I agree with Steve. InDesign doesn't allow you to add your own buttons or tools.
UserVoice feature request would be the best way to convey your message to the

Engineering and Product Management teams regarding issues and suggestions so they can be implemented in future releases.

Regards,

Ashutosh
