Adding Fonts

Question

I have previously added a particular custom font and now it is no longer working properly. I have tried to remove the font and upload it again, but then it says the file is already downloaded.
When I go into indesign, it will let me type one letter of the custom font and then the rest is highlighted in pink. Also, if I delete that one letter and then try to type it again, the pink highlight shows up again. Any ideas??

Thanks for checking in. To move this forward, could you please confirm the details requested by the expert, including whether you're using paragraph or character styles or applying the font manually, and where the font is installed from? In addition, please share your operating system and the exact InDesign version you're working with.

It would also really help if you could let me know the exact name of the font and its foundry, so I can try testing the same font on my end.
