Hello Everyone,

System & Software Setup:

  • Windows 11 Business 24H2 — fully updated
  • Adobe InDesign v20.5 x64 (InDesign 2024) — fully updated
  • NVIDIA T1000 8GB — driver version 581.15
  • CPU: Intel(R) Xeon(R) W-2245 @ 3.90GHz
  • RAM: 32 GB (31.6 GB usable)
  • 64-bit OS, x64-based processor
  • Network performance: OK
  • Antivirus disabled during tests

Project details:

  • InDesign Book file: ~53 MB
  • ~100 images, ~30 linked files

Issue:

  • InDesign is extremely slow since upgrading to Windows 11 Business 24H2
  • Constant message: "Compatible GPU and monitor not detected"
  • Navigation, zooming, and general UI responsiveness are significantly impacted

Troubleshooting already done:

  • No performance issues before upgrading to Windows 11
  • Performed clean uninstall and reinstall of InDesign
  • Deleted preferences (Prefs folder)
  • Deleted InDesign cache folder
  • GPU driver is up to date
  • Issue persists even with antivirus disabled
  • Network is not a factor (same behavior with local files)

Still experiencing the same performance issues.

The link under 'Slow performance in Indesign' doesn't function

I assume it's this link:

https://helpx.adobe.com/indesign/kb/slow-performance-indesign.html

The IT department installed two new monitors for me with a resolution of 2560x1440.
I will also apply the tips from the link https://helpx.adobe.com/indesign/kb/slow-performance-indesign.html
Then, I will continue working in InDesign and get back to you with more information.

Hi @Franck22652903jiyg,

Thanks for sharing the details. About the 'Compatible GPU and monitor not detected' message, could you confirm whether your monitor resolution is above 2k? Refer this article: InDesign system requirements. Please also let me know if the slowdown happens across all documents or only with certain files. In the meantime, you can try the steps outlined here: Slow performance in InDesign. A short screen recording showing the lag would be really helpful.

Looking forward to your update.

Hi Abhishek,

Both screens are 1920x1200.

Slowdown across all documents.
The link under 'Slow performance in Indesign' doesn't function but I think I 've already tried everything I found in the InDesign Help.

With a correct screen recording...
